Activating a Player Profile When Signing Up for UTR Sports


 What is a Player Profile?

Great question! A player profile is a web page where a player's rating, match history, and preferences are stored.

 Every player at UTRSports.net must activate or create a player profile. Are you a parent, or coach, or simply do not play tennis or pickleball? You will still need to create and complete your profile to use our site. You can sign up for UTR Sports at UTRSports.net.

You'll create a player profile during sign-up if you're new to tennis or pickleball and don't have any scores recorded in our system.

You'll activate a player profile if you already have some playing history online. Your UTRSports.net player profile may already exist with match results listed, but you'll need to activate it to make changes and customize it.


Here’s How To Get Started!

Step 1:  Go to UTRSports.net or download our mobile app

Step 2:  Click Join at the top-right corner of the page or Get Started from the mobile app

Step 3:  Enter your email address and password and click Sign Up With Email. 

NOTE: For USAP members, please avoid creating your account using the Continue With Apple or Facebook option as this creates a duplicate in the system.

Step 4:  Enter your profile info then click Continue. Note that if you’re signing up for your child, this information and e-mail address should be uniquely their own as each child needs their own account at UTRSports.net.

Step 5:  Answer a basic question which is the sports you play (tennis and/or pickleball) to claim/create your profile. Note: If you are below 13 years old, you will be prompted to answer if you are a colored ball player. 

Step 6: You'll be prompted to answer the Get Rated questionnaire/s to populate your UTR Pickleball rating. The estimated UTR rating will be your provisional rating and will automatically update once you start adding matches to your profile. Note: You can skip this step by clicking "I'll do this later" below the Continue button.


What happens if there are profiles under my name from the Search results? 

You (or your child) could already have a player profile at UTRSports.net - now you need to activate it. Click "Claim Profile" on the information that matches you and activate your profile.


If you see a message that says the profile has already been activated, STOP!

This normally isn't a case of a bandit grabbing up your profile - typically another family member made a profile for you (or your kiddo) and is a step ahead. 

You can do one of the following:

  • Ask your family members if they activated the profile request the login information and continue to use the UTR Sports account that has activated the profile.
  • Contact our support team here for help activating the profile and linking it to the correct login information.

That’s it! Once you have your profile set up, you can view player results or sign up for Events yourself!

What if I was NOT shown my existing profile to claim while signing up?

In case you did not get prompted to see your profile to claim when signing up, the UTR Sports team can quickly connect your new profile you created to your existing profile. You can email us at usaphelp@utrsports.com. The team will merge your profiles and send you a follow up email once completed. This process will take 1-2 days typically.
