Flex League Standings

UTR Sports Flex Leagues offer level-based play and competitive matches with the ability to keep track of your league progress and standings directly from the Flex League event page!

League standings can be found by navigating to your league session event page and selecting the Standings tab on the draw where your matchups are shown. This tab will update automatically each week when your posted scores are confirmed.

There are five stats noted for each player, which contribute to calculating the overall Standings order - the player's current UTR, the total number of league matches played by the player, the player match record within the league, the player W-L record for sets, and game:

How are Flex League standings calculated?

The standings are determined using a series of tiebreakers. The system considers the applicable tiebreaker based on the number of players who are tied.

When two players are tied, head-to-head results may be used to determine the order between those players.

When three or more players are tied, the system uses the applicable tiebreakers in order rather than simply using head-to-head results between individual players.

The standings may consider the following statistics:

  • League match record: the player's wins and losses within the league.
  • Head-to-head result: applicable when two players are tied.
  • Sets won percentage: the percentage of sets won out of the total sets played.
  • Games won percentage: the percentage of games won out of the total games played.

Because tiebreakers are applied in sequence, a player who defeated another tied player is not necessarily ranked ahead of that player when three or more players have the same league record.

For example, if three players all finish with a 3–1 record, the system may move beyond head-to-head results and use the next applicable tiebreaker to separate them. This can result in a player being ranked higher despite having lost a head-to-head match against another player in the group.

You can find further details on how the Standings are calculated by clicking on the information 'i' on the Standings tab:

At the end of each league session, the player with the top league record will be announced in a league-end message and will receive a UTR Sports Flex League prize!
