The Feed-In Consolation draw format is most commonly used for competitive junior tennis events as it allows players the opportunity to play more matches in an event by feeding the main draw players to the consolation draw beyond the first round. This draw format is also available for pickleball play.
To get started, select the "Event Desk" button on your event page.
Note: The Event Desk button will appear after the registration has been closed. If no existing draws, you'll be prompted to choose how you like to schedule your matches.
Then you can either:
- Start by creating a new empty draw
- Go to the All Players List and start creating a draw by selecting players
Option 1: Create Draws
This is our traditional way of creating draws. From the welcome page of your Event Desk, click the Create Draw button and the create draw sidebar will appear.
Option 2: Create Draws from All Players List
This feature allows you to add selected players to a specific draw. From the welcome page of your Event Desk, click the All Players List button and you'll be redirected to the list of all of your registered players. Here you can arrange the players according to their name, Singles/Doubles rating, and age or filter the players based on their gender. You also have the option to search for a specific player. Once you have ticked your selected players, click the "Add To" button at the top then, click "Add To New Draw" and "Create Draw".
CREATING NEW DRAW
Pro-tip: The recommended draw size for this format is 16 to 128 players/teams.
Upon creating your draw, ensure that you are selecting the "Feed-in Consolation" draw format and the corresponding draw size. From here, you can select between FIC to QF or FIC to Rd 16 and tick the boxes below if you prefer to have a Playoff draw.
Note: 16 players/ 8 matches draw size will only be able to select FIC to QF and 3-4 Playoff Draw.
MANAGING YOUR PLAYER BANK
In your Player Bank, you'll see all the players who registered for your event categorized under All, Not Placed, Placed, or Players Not in Draw.
To move players from Players Not in Draw to a draw, you can either check the boxes to the left of their names and click "Add to Draw", or you can click the three dots to the right of their names and select "Add to Draw" from the dropdown menu. Either way, players will be moved to the Not Placed category:
Hint: To move players to another draw or to remove them from the draw you're working with, simply check the boxes next to their names and select "Move" or "Remove" from the top of the Players Bank.
SEEDING YOUR DRAWS
After you've populated your Players Bank, you will have the following options for seeding your players (available for all formats except Matchplay):
- Manually assign seeds
- Seed by UTR Rating (with options for 25%, 50%, or 100% of the draw)
- Use random seeding
- Hide seeds from players
Seeding by UTR Rating
Providers can now choose what percentage of the draw to seed based on UTR Ratings:
- 25% of the draw → The existing option, where 25% of players are seeded, and the rest are placed randomly.
- 50% of the draw → Half of the draw is seeded by UTR, with the remaining players placed randomly.
- 100% of the draw → All players are seeded and placed based on their UTR Rating.
Manual Seeding
- Providers can manually assign seeds by entering numbers in the seed boxes next to each player’s name.
- Any unseeded players will be placed randomly in the draw.
Random Seeding
- Providers can choose to seed 25%, 50%, or 100% of the draw randomly.
- This option does not consider player ratings, ensuring a completely randomized seeding process.
Hide Seeds Option
A new “Hide Seeds” checkbox allows providers to hide seeding information from players.
The Hide Seeds setting can be turned on or off at any time.
When enabled:
- Seeds will not be visible on event profile draws or printed draw views.
- Providers will still see seeds in the event desk draws.
- Printed draws always hide seeds, even for providers, since both players and providers share the same print views.
ENTERING SCORES
Once you start entering match scores, players who lose in the main draw until the designated feed-in round (either Rd of 16 or QF) will be placed into the consolation draw.
Note: If the 3-4 and/or 5-6 playoff draw was selected during draw creation, players who lose in the main draw after the designated feed in the consolation will be automatically moved to the playoff draw.
When players move to consolation draw, they will be placed during certain rounds in reverse order at time in order to avoid repeat matchups.
PUBLISHING AND UNPUBLISHING YOUR DRAWS
- Publishing draws makes them visible to anyone viewing the main event page. When you're ready to make your draws public, click the "Publish" button on the top right of the page. From the pop-up window, select each draw you'd like to Publish. Unselected draws will remain unpublished.
- Unpublishing draws will remove them from your event page. To un-publish a draw, simply click the Publish button again, uncheck the boxes of the draws you'd like to un-publish and click Publish to save your choices.
Note: Draws that have scores, cannot be unpublished.
